Size Reduction of Prolactinomas (3) Before therapy (baseline), the patient had a bitemporal hemianopia, complete in the left eye and incomplete in the right eye. The visual fields were greatly improved after ten days, and only an equivocal superior bitemporal quadrantic defect to the low intensity object was present after nearly one year. Thirteen days after withdrawal of medical treatment, the tumour had enlarged again and the field defects recurred as an almost complete temporal hemianopia in the left eye and a partial temporal hemianopia in the right. Progressive improvement in visual fields was again observed over the subsequent six months after reintroduction of therapy.
